Our Single Flute Up & Down Cutter is an excellent alternative to our standard 2-flute up & down compression cutter, particularly when used on smaller or less rigid CNC machines. Thanks to its single flute geometry, this cutter generates significantly lower radial load, making it easier on the spindle and far more forgiving on lighter-duty setups, while still delivering reliable, clean cutting performance.
The large flute profile provides excellent chip evacuation, performing especially well in MDF, lightweight plywood, and softwoods. This cutter is specifically engineered to operate optimally within these materials, where efficient chip removal and reduced heat are critical to cut quality and tool life.
To ensure the best possible results, every cutter order includes bespoke cutting parameter graphs, created specifically for you. These take into account the materials you intend to machine and the CNC machine you are using, allowing us to recommend the most suitable spindle speeds, feed rates, and depths of cut. All guidance we provide is fully tailored — never generic — ensuring you achieve optimal performance from your tooling.

Check your inbox and junk mail. Our introductory email is sent approximately five minutes after your order is confirmed and may have landed there instead.
Reply to the email with as much detail as possible about your CNC machine, spindle speed, tool size and the materials you intend to cut. Our applications team will then help you establish suitable feeds, speeds and depths per pass to the best of our ability.

Every cutter purchased includes free personalised feeds and speeds from our in-house CNC applications team. The above is a graph we made for a client that ordered a range of compression cutter sizes.
Simply reply to the automated email sent five minutes after ordering with a few details about your setup, including your machine model, spindle RPM, material, and order number. We'll send back recommended feed rates, plunge rates, and maximum depths per pass, all tailored specifically to your setup.
