See It In Action
- Built to resist snapping under higher feed rates, getting you through each job faster.
- Engineered for consistency, every bit performs the same, with no exceptions.
- Micrograin solid carbide keeps edges sharper for longer, so you're getting crisp cuts at high feed rate. Not just when the tool's fresh.
- Micro-Grain Solid Carbide Up Cutters have been Tested and proven to considerably outlast alternative standard 'solid carbide' bits.
- Expect a clear improvement in sheet count per bit over any compression cutter you've used before.
How does it work?
Two flute upcut geometry has a single continuous spiral, so chips lift straight up and out in one direction with nothing splitting the flow. On MDF this clears dusty debris before it reheats and fuse, on plastics it stops melt back onto the bit and on non-ferrous metals like aluminium it clears stringy swarf before it wraps the tool. That single, unobstructed path is what lets feed rates run quicker than a compression cutter.
The tradeoff is top face finish. Upward pull can fur or chip faced materials like MFC or veneered MDF, but the bottom edge stays perfect, which is the reason compression cutters exist for those jobs, trading some speed for a cleaner top edge.
Personalised Feeds & Speeds
Every cutter purchased includes free personalised feeds and speeds from our in-house CNC applications team. The graph featured we made for a client that ordered a range of compression cutter sizes, although they're available every tool.
Simply reply to the automated email sent five minutes after ordering with a few details about your setup, including your machine model, spindle RPM, material, and order number. We'll send back recommended feed rates, plunge rates, and maximum depths per pass, all tailored specifically to your setup.
We're not just here for surface level advice — if you've got a more detailed query, email us anytime at info@routerbits.co.uk.
We'll provide feeds and speeds for as many materials as you need, and you're welcome to ask as often as you like. We're here to help. Our goal is to get you cutting confidently from your very first job while helping maximise tool life, improve finish quality, and get the most from every cutter.
Details
Check out our Micro Grain Solid Carbide Spiral Two Flute Up Cutter, featuring 2 flutes and built to outlast standard solid carbide bits, a claim we've tested meticulously to back up. Available in a range of different sizes.
What is Micro-Grain Solid Carbide?
Micrograin solid carbide uses carbide grains down to 0.5 to 0.8 microns, versus 2 to 5 microns in standard carbide. Finer grain means a harder edge without the usual loss in toughness, so it resists chipping and heat softening under load. Result: the edge stays sharp and accurate far longer, especially when compared to standard solid carbide bits.
These Two Flute Up Cutters bits are built for CNC and router applications requiring high feed rates and prolonged tool life. They work great across wood sheet materials, plastcis, foam boards and composites.

Reviews
Great tool life,very rigid feel.
Was getting through two or three cutters a week. Been running this one for three weeks and it's still sharp.
Snapped three cutters in a month on dense oak. Not had one of these snap.
Package battered whe n it came but tools were good.
Personalised feed and speed advice was a game changer.
Getting double the sheet count compared to what I was using before
Last few sheets of a run were never quite right with cheap cutters. With these you get what you pay for.
All tools are conssitent, and perform well
Thought the price was slightly steep, two months in and I've spent less on the cheap shit I was buying before from rennie equipment tools or something
Pushed these bits very hard and they have done alright
Great bits, very rigid and performance is consistently good. i like it
All the lads that run the machine say how great the quality is, i thought i'd jump on here just to let anyone looking to buy these know.
All sizes I have bought from this site have been quality
Good bits
Cost per sheet is half what it was, i can do double the amount per sheet with these, Wish I'd switched sooner.

Carbide ground to 0.5 to 0.8 micron grain, versus 2 to 5 microns in standard carbide. Finer grain holds a sharper edge for longer under load.
Whatever diameter tool you choose, you'll need a matching collet size.
