Details
Check out our Micro Grain Solid Carbide Spiral Two Flute Down Cutter, featuring 2 flutes and built to outlast standard solid carbide bits, a claim we've tested meticulously to back up. Available in a range of different sizes.
What is Micro-Grain Solid Carbide?
Micrograin solid carbide uses carbide grains down to 0.5 to 0.8 microns, versus 2 to 5 microns in standard carbide. Finer grain means a harder edge without the usual loss in toughness, so it resists chipping and heat softening under load. Result: the edge stays sharp and accurate far longer, especially when compared to standard solid carbide bits.
This Two Flute Down Cutter is built for CNC and router applications requiring high feed rates and prolonged tool life. They work great across a range of Sheeted woods, with no acceptions.

Reviews
Had three different downcut brands snap on me mid-job this year. These have been very good so far, and the support has been class.
MDF pockets are coming out clean every time. No burning, no chatter. Previous bit had a nasty habit of sounding rough after a few sheets but this one stays quiet.
Been snapping quarter inch downcuts for months. Thought it was my feeds and speeds but I switched to these and haven't broken one since and with these i run them faster than anything i ran before to.
Top face on my melamine is as clean as I need it. Cutter is still sharp after more sheets than I'd normally expect. Worth every penny, but the package was battered when it arrived, and they took a few hours to get back to me on email.
Used to get burn marks on MDF edges after a few sheets. These stay sharp long enough that it's not an issue anymore. Reordering already, got a huggee job coming up
Previous downcuts would start chattering and the walls would go wavy. These run smooth the whole way through. Makes a real difference on tight pockets.
Snapping was costing me a fortune. These have been running for weeks without a single break. Good carbide makes a difference.
Feeds and speeds advice was spot on.
Running these through MFC all day. Top face is clean, no chipping on the surface. Hold up well across a full day of production I got 90 odd sheets out of one bit for anyone wondering actual sheet performance.
Replaced a well known brand with these. Lasting noticeably longer before the edge goes off. Less downtime swapping tools which is great
Had issues with chatter on unsupported offcuts. These are noticeably more stable than what I was using before. sheet Walls come out clean.
Snapped two bits from another supplier in the same afternoon. Ordered these, haven't looked back. Running the same depth of cut without any issues.
All sizes I have bought from this site have been quality
Good bits
